Adding Destinations For Notifications
Adding Destinations For Notifications
Updated over a week ago

When creating a notification trigger in Notification Settings you must add a Destination. Destinations are the people/group you want to send the notification to via phone, email, SMS, or webhook. Successfully adding the Destination to your notification trigger allows the system to send your notification to the right person or the right place.

  1. Navigate to Settings>Notifications>Triggers and click on the Destinations tab at the top.

  2. Click New Destination, and begin filling in the details:

    1. The Name field allows you to label your Destination however you'd like. We recommend coming up with a standard naming convention to stay organized, for example: If your new Destination is being created to send notifications to your store's operations managers, you might label this "Store Operations Manager."

      1. This will allow you to continue to add any Store Operations Managers phone numbers or email addresses to this group to ensure consistency if you operate in more than one market/location.

    2. The Description field helps you define who's in that contact group so that multiple groups aren't created with the same information. For instance, using the example above, you might describe the group as, "All notifications with this contact group will go our Operations Managers via email".

  3. To tell the notifications which channel to send through, click the +Channel button. Channel options include Email, Slack, SMS and Webhook.

πŸ“ Please note: Webhooks have to be added before you can select that as a channel for notifications. Please click here to setup webhooks.

Once your channel has been selected, you'll need to add additional information to complete the destination. See the below channels for specifics on completing and saving destinations.

Slack

In the dropdown field, the Slack option will allow you to choose a Slack channel to send your Notification Trigger to. You can simply type in the name of the Slack channel in the first field labeled Add New Slack Channel. If the Slack channel you input is already shared with Nash, you don't have to do anything else. However, if the Slack channel you input is not shared with Nash, you will have to fill out the second field labeled Slack Workspace ID.

You will also have to add the Nash Notification Bot to your workspace. If you're adding the bot to a shared connection with the Nash Team, just type @nash notification bot and hit enter, and it will be enabled. Contact the Nash Support team for help enabling on your own external Slack space.

Click the button on the right of the Add New Slack Channel field to save that channel and open up the option to add more.

SMS

The SMS option in the Channel dropdown allows you to either add a phone number where the Notification Trigger will be texted, or use dynamic text to note the field on the delivery where you want the notification sent.
