Read an order
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Every order has a details drawer — one place with everything about it: where it stands, what's being picked up and dropped off, and what's inside. This article covers what's there and how to get to it.
Open an order
From the Orders list, select an order's
row to open it. The order opens in a drawer on top of the list — there's
no separate details page. The drawer's URL (/orders/<order id>) is
shareable, so you can copy it and come straight back to the same order
later.
What you see
The drawer's header stays visible no matter which tab you're on. It shows the order's status — Needs Attention, Ready to Dispatch, Dispatched, or Archived — along with provenance on how it got there, for example "Dispatch Strategy assigned via Workflow" when a workflow assigned it automatically. You'll also find the order ID, and, once the order has been dispatched, a link to its delivery.
For what each status means and how an order moves between them, see order timeline & status.
The tabs
Below the header, the drawer is organized into tabs:
- Pickup and Dropoff — the addresses and contacts for where the order is coming from and going to.
- Delivery Details — what's in the order: item count, package value, an optional identifier and description, tags, and the dispatch strategy it's assigned to.
- Delivery Windows — if your organization uses delivery windows, you'll see the windows available for the order here.
Some organizations also see a Documents tab, for downloading things like packing slips or shipping labels — availability depends on your organization's setup.
Reviewing and editing are the same place
The drawer isn't a read-only view — it's an editable form. Any field you can see, you can also change: update an address on the Pickup or Dropoff tab, adjust the item count or tags on Delivery Details, and so on. When you're done, choose Save to update the order, or Save & Dispatch to save your changes and send the order out in one step.
Because of this, reviewing an order and changing it happen in the same drawer — there isn't a separate "edit" screen to switch to.
Choosing a provider
You won't find quotes or a provider picker on this drawer. When you dispatch an order, that's when you review its quotes and choose which provider carries it — a separate step covered by dispatching an order.
