Create and edit a course

Last updated: August 16, 2026

The Skills tab on the Training page is where you build the courses your drivers take. Each course pairs learning materials with an optional quiz, a passing score, and a validity period.

Note

Fleet and the Training page are gated. Availability varies by organization — if you don't see Training in the sidebar, reach out to Nash. Training doesn't appear for scoped users.

Note

The Skills tab and its list call each course a "skill," but the drawer that opens to build one is titled New Course and its first field is Course Name. They're the same thing.

The Skills list

Open Training and stay on the Skills tab. Each row is one course, with these columns:

  • Skill — the course name, with its description underneath.
  • External ID — your own reference code for the course, if you set one.
  • Appliance Category — the category or domain the course covers.
  • Materials — a count of the videos and documents attached.
  • Quiz — how many questions the quiz has and the score needed to pass, or "No quiz."
  • Validity — how long a completed course stays valid, in days or years.
  • StatusActive or Draft (a course can also be Archived).

Use Search skills... to filter the list by name, description, or category. Click a row to open the course for editing.

Create a course

Select New Skill to open the New Course drawer. It has three tabs — Details, Materials, and Quiz — and you can move between them freely before saving.

Details

  • Course Name — what the course is called. Required.
  • External ID — an optional reference code of your own.
  • Description — a short summary of what the course covers.
  • Category — the category or domain for the course (for example, a type of appliance or handling). Required.
  • Validity (days) — how long a driver's qualification stays valid after they complete the course. Defaults to 365.
  • Active — turn this on to make the course available for drivers to take. A new course is a Draft until you do. When editing, the same toggle appears at the top of the drawer.

Materials

Select Add Material for each piece of learning content. For each one, set:

  • Title — the name of the material.
  • TypeVideo, Document, or Link.
  • URL — where the material lives. Videos can be YouTube, Vimeo, or a direct video link; documents and links open at the address you give.
  • Duration — for videos only, a free-text length such as "25 min."

Add as many materials as the course needs, and remove any with the trash icon.

Quiz

The quiz is optional. Set the Passing Score (%) — the minimum a driver must score to pass — then select Add Question for each question. Each question has:

  • Question — the question text.
  • Options (select the correct answer) — the answer choices. Mark the correct one with the circle to its left.

If you add no questions, the course is materials-only and the Skills list shows "No quiz" for it.

When you're done, select Create Course. To leave without saving, select Cancel.

Edit a course

Click a course row, or open its menu and choose Edit, to reopen the drawer as Edit Course. Change anything across the three tabs and select Save changes. The Active toggle at the top of the drawer flips the course between Active and Draft.

Share a course with a driver

To send a course to a specific driver, open the course's menu and choose Generate Link. In the Generate Course Link dialog, pick a driver. Nash opens a personalized version of the course in a new tab — the driver works through the materials in order and, if there's a quiz, answers the questions and sees whether they passed against the course's passing score.

Note

The course link shows the driver a pass or fail result at the end. It does not, on its own, update that driver's row on the Capabilities tab — capabilities are tracked separately. See Track driver certifications.
