Schedule and edit shifts
Last updated: August 16, 2026
The Shifts tab is a week-at-a-time calendar of your fleet's planned working windows. Each row is a driver or a vehicle (or Unassigned), and each block on the row is a shift. This article covers creating a shift, editing one, rescheduling by dragging, and exporting shift data.
Note
Fleet and the Shifts page are gated. Availability varies by organization — if you don't see it, reach out to Nash.
Move around the calendar
Use the week selector at the top to step to the previous or next week and to pick a day. Above the grid, the search box matches on a shift name or a store location, and the filters narrow the view:
- Type — switch between the Vehicle view and the Driver view (shown only when your organization has both).
- Store Location — one or more store locations.
- Zone — one or more zones.
Create a shift
Select Create Shift (top right of the Shifts tab, or the button in the empty state). In the Create Shift dialog, fill in:
- Name — a label for the shift. Required.
- Date — the day the shift runs. Required.
- From and To — the start and end times. Required, and the start must be before the end.
- Courier or Vehicle — who or what the shift is for. Which field shows depends on whether the calendar is in the Driver or Vehicle view.
- Status — the shift's state: Active, Inactive, Planned, Completed, or Cancelled. Required.
- Store Location — the store the shift is tied to.
- Zones — the zones the shift covers.
- Metadata (Optional) — additional data as JSON, if you use it.
Select Save to create the shift.
Note
Setting a Driver here schedules that driver's roster shift. It does not put them on a specific delivery or route — that happens in Operate. See Assign a driver to a live delivery.
Edit a shift
Select a shift block on the calendar to open it in the Edit Shift dialog, which has the same fields as create. From here you can also:
- Copy the shift's ID with the copy button next to the title.
- Open the route the shift is assigned to with View Assigned Route, when the shift is on a route. Working the route itself is covered in edit a route.
- Delete the shift. Deleting cannot be undone.
Select Save to keep your changes.
Reschedule by dragging
You can drag a shift block to a new time or onto a different driver or vehicle row. The Edit Shift dialog opens with the changed fields marked Updated so you can confirm before saving. Select Save to apply the move.
Export shift data
Select Export on the Shifts tab to open the Export Shift Data drawer. Set the range and scope of the file:
- Date Range — which days to include (defaults to the current month).
- State, Store Location, and Zone — narrow the export. Leaving a filter empty includes all.
- Sort & Organization — choose a Sort By field (Shift Name, Start Time, End Time, Created Date, or Last Updated) and a Sort Order (A → Z (Ascending) or Z → A (Descending)).
- Export dates relative to store location timezone — when checked, date filters apply in each shift's store timezone rather than your browser's.
Select Download CSV to generate and download the file.
To create shifts in bulk instead, see import shifts by CSV; for recurring shifts, see create and use shift templates.
