Manually assign a delivery

Last updated: August 16, 2026

Most deliveries get a provider automatically, but you can also choose one yourself — for a delivery that's waiting to be dispatched, when a dispatch attempt failed, or when you simply want to pick. There are two versions: choosing a provider, and (on your own fleet) choosing a driver.

Assign a provider

Available for a delivery that hasn't been dispatched yet or where dispatch failed.

  1. Open the delivery from the Deliveries list.
  2. In the delivery's action menu, choose Assign Provider.
  3. Pick a provider from the list of live quotes.
  4. Select Assign Provider to confirm. You'll see a confirmation that the provider was assigned.

Choosing a provider yourself overrides automatic dispatch for that delivery.

Assign a driver

Once a delivery is running on your own fleet, you assign the driver yourself. (This applies to internal-fleet deliveries only — on provider deliveries, the provider assigns the driver.)

  1. Open the delivery and choose Assign Driver from its action menu.
  2. In the driver list, search or browse Available and Unavailable drivers. Each shows the driver's status, vehicle, and how recently their location updated. The list is scoped to the delivery's driver group, so it shows the drivers eligible for this delivery — not necessarily your whole fleet.
  3. Select a driver and choose Assign.

To move a delivery that's already assigned to someone else, see reassign a delivery. Own-fleet driver assignment depends on your organization's setup — reach out to Nash if you'd like access.
