Schedule delivery windows with templates
Last updated: August 16, 2026
There are two ways to put delivery windows on the calendar: create a single window by hand in a zone's calendar, or build a template that generates recurring windows across the zones you choose. Use a single window for a one-off; use a template for the repeating weekly slots that make up most of a schedule.
Note
This is a beta feature. Reach out to Nash if you'd like early access.
Create a single window on the calendar
- On the Delivery Windows tab, expand the zone you want to add a slot to.
- In that zone's week calendar, click an open time slot to open the Create Delivery Window dialog. If the zone has no windows yet, use the Create button on the empty calendar instead.
- Fill in the fields and select Create Window.
The dialog's fields:
- Title — optional label for the slot (for example, "Morning Express").
- Date — the day the window runs. Required.
- From and To — the start and end time. Both required; From must be before To.
- Cutoff Time — an optional date and time after which the window can no longer be booked.
- Price — what the window costs. Defaults to 0.
- Max Capacity — how many orders the window can hold. Defaults to 0.
- Min Order Value — the smallest order that qualifies for the window. Defaults to 0.
- Requirements — driver skills a delivery in this window needs. This is a beta capability and may not appear for your organization. The options come from your Fleet training courses and package requirements — see manage training.
- Metadata — optional JSON for extra data you want to attach to the window.
To change a window, select its block in the calendar to open the Edit Delivery Window dialog with the same fields; Save changes to keep them. The edit dialog also has a Delete action — deleting a window cannot be undone.
Generate windows in bulk with a template
A template describes a repeating slot — which days it runs, what time it runs locally, how often to create it, and how far into the future — then generates the individual windows for the zones you attach. Templates live on the Templates tab.
Read the template list
The Templates tab is a table with Template Name, Price, Window Start Date, and Window End Date columns and an Edit action per row. Use Search templates… to filter, the Store Location filter to narrow, and select rows to bulk-delete. Select Create Template to build a new one, or a row to edit an existing one.
Fill in the template drawer
Select Create Template to open the Create Delivery Window Template drawer. It is grouped into sections:
- Template Name — a required name, plus an optional External ID.
- Time and Schedule:
- Days of the Week — pick the days the window repeats on. At least one is required.
- Start Date/Time — when the template begins generating windows. Required.
- End Date/Time (Optional) — when it stops.
- Window Creation Cadence — Create delivery windows every takes a number and a unit (for example, every 1 week), setting how often a window is created.
- Create Windows Up To — Create takes a number and a unit for the rolling horizon (for example, up to 12 weeks of delivery windows), setting how far ahead windows are generated.
- Conflict Rule — Override Existing Window Data decides what happens when a generated window collides with one that already exists. Left off, existing windows are preserved; turned on, the template's data overrides them.
- Delivery Window Details — the values stamped onto each generated window: Start Time (Local), End Time (Local), Price, Maximum Capacity, Minimum Order Value, and optional Metadata JSON.
- Apply Template — Zones selects which zones this template creates windows for.
Select Save Template to create it. Nash generates the windows from the template on the schedule you set — as the horizon rolls forward, new windows are created to keep the calendar filled ahead.
Note
How windows are generated, deduplicated against existing slots, and refreshed over time is handled by Nash on the server. This page describes the settings you control; the exact generation and recompute behavior is applied for you.
Upload windows or templates by CSV
Both tabs can take a CSV instead of manual entry:
- The Delivery Windows tab has a CSV Upload link for uploading windows.
- The Templates tab has an Import link for uploading templates.
Both open Nash's shared CSV import tool, which walks you through mapping your file's columns before it commits the rows.
