Set up a Driver Group Admin user
Last updated: October 2, 2026
A Driver Group Admin is a scoped role that does everything a Driver Group Operations user does for the driver groups you assign — and can also add and manage the Driver Group Operations users for those groups. It's how you hand a carrier, a sub-team, or a partner the job of managing their own people without giving them your organization's full user and role settings.
Note
Driver-group access scoping, including the Driver Group Admin role, is available depending on your Nash setup — availability varies by organization. Reach out to Nash for access.
What the role can do
- Everything a Driver Group Operations user can: see its assigned driver groups and their drivers and routes, monitor and complete those routes, and mark a driver available or unavailable.
- Open Settings, where it sees one page — Users — listing the Driver Group Operations users who share at least one of its driver groups.
- Add a Driver Group Operations user and assign them to one or more of its own driver groups.
- Change which of its driver groups an existing Driver Group Operations user can reach.
What it can't do:
- Assign any role other than Driver Group Operations, or create and edit roles.
- Give anyone access to a driver group it isn't assigned to itself.
- See or change Owners, Admins, other Driver Group Admins, or anyone outside its groups.
- Remove a user from the organization, or change an existing user's name or email. Those stay with an Owner or Admin.
- Reach the rest of Settings — organization details, roles, operations, billing, and preferences stay hidden.
Set one up
An Owner or Admin sets the role and its scope where you manage your organization's users:
- Go to Settings > Members & Organization > Users and add or edit the user.
- Set their role to Driver Group Admin.
- Under Driver Groups, select the groups this user should manage. When you add a new user with this role, at least one driver group is required.
- Save. The next time they sign in, they see only those groups, plus the Users page for managing the groups' Driver Group Operations users.
To change what the admin can reach later, edit the user and adjust the assigned driver groups. A Driver Group Admin with no driver groups assigned can't manage users.
Add and manage users as a Driver Group Admin
When you're signed in as a Driver Group Admin, open Settings from your profile menu. You land on Users, which lists each Driver Group Operations user in your groups with their email, name, role, and how many of your driver groups they're assigned to. Use the search box to find someone.
To add a user:
- Select Add Team Member. The Add Driver Group Operations user drawer opens.
- Enter the person's Email, and their First Name and Last Name. The Role is fixed to Driver Group Operations.
- Under Driver Groups, select one or more of your active driver groups.
- Select Add.
To change a user's groups, select Edit access on their row, adjust the selection under Driver Groups, and select Save. A user has to keep at least one driver group; to take away someone's access entirely, ask an Owner or Admin to remove them.
Note
If the person you're adding already has a different role in your organization, or belongs to another organization, you can't add them from this page. Ask an Owner or Admin to set them up instead.
