Driver group settings

Last updated: August 16, 2026

This is a reference for every control in a driver group's drawer, grouped by the tab it appears on. For how groups work and how to create one, start with create and configure a driver group.

Open a group from the Driver Groups page and select Save to apply changes. Where a setting shapes eligibility, dispatch, or optimization, the description explains what it asks Nash to do — the result is decided when a delivery is dispatched or a route is built, so treat behavior as intent rather than a guarantee.

Note

Fleet and this page are gated. Availability varies by organization — if you don't see it, reach out to Nash. When your access is scoped, only membership is editable and the rest of these settings are read-only.

General

Setting What it does
Name The group's name. Required.
External ID Your own reference for the group in outside systems. Optional.
Customer Support Contact A Phone Number shared with drivers for customer inquiries. Optional.

Driver App Settings

Overrides that change how the Nash driver app behaves for this group. Add a setting with Add a setting to override; each override shows the current Org value it replaces. Settings you don't override keep the org-level value from Fleet settings (My Fleet), so a group only differs where you deliberately override it.

Setting Options (default) What it does
Require acceptance for assigned deliveries On / Off (org value) Drivers must explicitly accept deliveries; they appear in the app's New tab.
Enforce pickup sequence On / Off (org value) Requires drivers to pick up items in the given order.
Edit items on package list On / Off (org value) Lets drivers edit item quantities on the package list.
Package list grouping By stop / By category (org value) How items are grouped on the driver-app package list.
Allow partial delivery On / Off (org value) Lets a driver deliver some items for a stop and mark the rest not delivered.
Auto-complete returns On / Off (org value) Completes return tasks automatically instead of a manual step.
Skip item marking On / Off (org value) Drivers see only the item count; completing a stop marks all items picked or delivered.

Drivers

The group's membership — the drivers Nash may draw from for this group. Use Add Drivers to add drivers and the list to remove them. Manage the drivers themselves on the Drivers page (add and edit a driver).

Vehicles

Vehicles linked to the group, added with Add Vehicles. This tab appears when vehicle-based dispatch is enabled for your organization. Manage the vehicles themselves on the Vehicles page (manage vehicles).

Features

Geographical Eligibility

Constraints on where the group can pick up and drop off. Pickup Eligibility and Dropoff Eligibility each expand to the same set of filters; leaving a filter empty means it doesn't constrain the group. Each filter narrows which deliveries the group is eligible for.

Filter What it does
Zones Zones where pickups (or dropoffs) are allowed.
Store Locations Specific store locations for pickups (or dropoffs).
Countries Countries where pickups (or dropoffs) are allowed.
States/Regions States or regions where pickups (or dropoffs) are allowed.
Cities City names where pickups (or dropoffs) are allowed.
Zip/Postal Codes Zip or postal codes where pickups (or dropoffs) are allowed.

Operating Hours

The days and time windows the group operates. Select a day to open a drawer and configure one or more windows for it; a day with no windows is Not configured. Used to decide when the group is eligible.

Package Requirements

The package requirements the group supports (for example refrigeration or a specific handling type), used when Nash checks the group's eligibility for a delivery. You can add custom values.

Driver Assignment

Controls how deliveries are offered to the group's drivers.

Setting Options (default) What it does
Publish Deliveries to Drivers On / Off (off) Makes deliveries visible to available drivers so they can see and accept them. Turning it on reveals the fields below.
Max deliveries Number (Unlimited) The most deliveries to publish at once. Blank means unlimited.
Per Unlimited / Hour / Day / Delivery window (Unlimited) The window the Max deliveries cap applies over.
Max radius Distance (Unlimited) How far out to publish deliveries from the driver, in your organization's distance unit.
Buffer minutes Number (0) Extra time before and after each accepted delivery's window when checking for overlap. Applies only when Per is Delivery window.

Proof of Delivery

Requirements applied even when the order itself doesn't require them.

Setting Options (default) What it does
Pickup POD On / Off (off) Automatically requires a proof of delivery at pickup.
Dropoff POD On / Off (off) Automatically requires a proof of delivery at dropoff.
Signature On / Off (off) Automatically requires a signature for the delivery.

Optimization

These settings shape how Nash builds routes for the group. See also optimize orders and edit a route for where routes are worked in Operate.

Dispatch

Setting Options (default) What it does
Use All Vehicles On / Off (off) Allows dispatch to use all available vehicles.
Use Multi Dispatch On / Off (off) Allows a vehicle type to be dispatched again after returning to the depot.

Limits

Setting What it does
Min Orders per Route The fewest orders a route for this group should contain.
Max Orders per Route The most orders a route for this group should contain.
Max Driving Time (hours) A cap on a route's driving time.
Max Driving Distance (miles) A cap on a route's driving distance. Always in miles, regardless of your organization's distance preference.

Locations

Setting What it does
Start Depot Store Location The store location a route starts from.
End Depot Store Location The store location a route ends at.

Break

Configure a driver break for the group's routes. A Break ID is required when you set a duration or max working time.

Setting What it does
Break ID An identifier for the break. Required if either field below is set.
Break Duration The break length, in minutes.
Max Working Time Before Break The most working time allowed before the break, in minutes.
