Set your organization defaults

The General & formatting card on the Preferences page sets the measurement units, date and time formats, and currency your whole organization uses by default. These are the defaults every member starts with — they shape how weights, distances, dates, times, and money are shown across the portal.

Find it under Settings ▸ Preferences (/settings/preferences). It's the first of three cards on the page; each card saves on its own.

The card description reads "Set organization defaults for language, timezone, formats, currency, and units."

Note

These are organization defaults. Members can override the formats for themselves from their own account. See Personalize your account.

Set your defaults

  1. Go to Settings ▸ Preferences and find the General & formatting card at the top.
  2. Set each field to the value you want (see the table below).
  3. Select Save changes in the card header.

You'll see a "Settings has been updated" confirmation. Only this card is saved — the Branding and Column labels cards below have their own Save buttons.

Note

Save changes stays available even when you haven't changed anything, so you can re-save the current values at any time.

What you can set

The card groups its controls into Measurement Units, Date & Time, and Currency.

Measurement Units

Configure the default weight, dimension, and distance units for your organization.

Setting Options (default) What it does
Weight: Kilograms (kg) / Pounds (lbs) — (Kilograms) Default weight unit shown across the portal.
Dimension: Centimeters (cm) / Inches (in) — (Centimeters) Default dimension unit.
Distance: Kilometers (km) / Miles (mi) — (Kilometers) Default distance unit.

Date & Time

Configure the default timezone, date format, and time format for your organization.

Setting Options (default) What it does
Timezone: Full time zone list — (your browser's time zone) Default time zone used when displaying dates and times.
Date Format: MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, DD.MM.YYYY, MMM D YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY HH:mm — (MM/DD/YYYY) Default date format. Each option previews today's date so you can see the result.
Time Format: 24-hour format / 12-hour format with AM/PM — (12-hour format with AM/PM) Default time format.

Currency

Configure the default currency for your organization. The selector is set to USD by default. Pick your organization's currency from the list.

About the Language setting

The default portal language for your organization is a Nash-scoped setting — it isn't something you change from this card. If you need your organization's default language changed, reach out to Nash. Individual members can still choose their own portal language from their account; see Personalize your account.
