Show tracking before dispatch

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Normally a customer's tracking page appears once a delivery is created. With tracking before dispatch on, the link works earlier — the customer can open it and see a holding page with a message from you while the delivery is still being arranged.

This lives in Engage ▸ Tracking Customization, on the Before delivery tab at the top of the screen — Order placed, no driver yet. Its controls sit on the editor sidebar's Page tab, below Language. For the page overview and the Save flow, see customize your tracking page.

Turn it on

Open the Before delivery tab. On the sidebar's Page tab:

  • Customers can open the link before a driver is assigned — the switch that turns the feature on. Off by default. "Until then they see this screen with your message."
  • Message on this screen — a text box that appears once the switch is on. "Optional. Shown publicly in your default tracking language." Type the message customers should see on the holding page, up to 280 characters — a counter under the box shows how many you've used. Leave it empty to use the default message, "Delivery updates will appear here as soon as they are available."

Preview it

The Before delivery tab's preview shows the holding page as the customer will see it: an Order received line, the heading We're preparing your order, and your message. While the switch is off, the preview shows a note instead — This screen is off. — and the holding page takes its place as soon as you turn the switch on. Use the desktop and mobile buttons above the preview to check both sizes, and switch to the During delivery tab to preview the normal tracking page. The preview uses your logo, brand color, business name, and language.

Save

Select Save and confirm the change list in the Save tracking page changes? dialog. Nothing goes live to customers until you confirm.
