Handle failed deliveries
Last updated: August 16, 2026
A delivery can end up Failed when it couldn't be completed — the address couldn't be found, no one was available, access was blocked, or something went wrong on the way. On the delivery you'll see the Failed status, and where the provider gave a reason, an info icon next to the status shows it.
Get it delivered anyway
A failed delivery is finished as-is, so you recover it by sending it again:
- Reassign it to another provider — the quickest path if the goods still need to go. See reassign a delivery.
- Duplicate it into a fresh delivery you can adjust first — useful if an address or detail needs fixing. See duplicate a delivery. (Availability varies by organization.)
Report an incident
If a delivery failed after pickup and you need to recover the package value, you can Report Incident from the delivery to open a report. It's available once a provider is engaged with the delivery (not while it's still unassigned), and availability varies by organization. Requesting a refund through an incident report is covered separately in the Refunds section.
To cut down on failures, keep pickup and drop-off details accurate and keep an eye on deliveries as they run — see find & monitor deliveries.
