Duplicate a delivery
Last updated: October 14, 2026
When a change is too big for editing in place — a new address, a different recipient — duplicate the delivery instead. Duplicating starts a new delivery pre-filled from the original, so you keep everything that's still correct and just change what's different.
Duplicate a delivery
- Find the delivery — in the Deliveries list or open it.
- Choose Duplicate: - from the delivery's action menu, or - the Duplicate icon in the action bar on the details page, or - the ⋯ menu on the delivery's row (or press D with the row selected).
- A new delivery form opens, pre-filled from the original. Adjust whatever's changing.
- Submit to create the new delivery. If the original used a dispatch strategy, you'll choose whether to Submit Only or Submit & Dispatch.
- Cancel the original delivery so you don't run both.
Send missing or replacement items
Duplicating is also how you send a second delivery when the first one arrived with items missing or wrong.
- Confirm the customer still wants the items before you send anything.
- Duplicate the original delivery. The copy brings across the same pickup, drop-off, and contacts.
- Change the items, the value, and the tip to cover only what you're sending now. For a scheduled delivery, update the time window too.
- Submit it, and dispatch it when the items are ready for pickup.
- Don't cancel the original. It was delivered, so leave it as it is.
To ask for a refund on the first delivery, report Missing or Incorrect Items on the original, not on the copy. See request a refund.
What carries over
The copy brings across the pickup and drop-off addresses, contacts, and the full package and item details, including the Reference ID, which is copied exactly as it was. If the original used a dispatch strategy, the copy preselects that same strategy by default, so it dispatches the same way — you can change it before you submit. (Whether the strategy carries over is org-configurable, so this can vary by org.) A couple of things are deliberately reset:
- The Package Identifier (the delivery's external ID) gets a
_copysuffix so it stays distinct from the original. The Reference ID isn't changed — only the identifier is. - Scheduled deliveries keep their original time window — change it if the new delivery needs a different time. For "now" deliveries, the time starts fresh.
Nothing is created until you submit, so you can review the whole copy first. Duplicating is available for single deliveries (not batches), and availability can vary by org — reach out to Nash if you'd like access.
