Providers at a glance

A provider is a delivery network you dispatch work to — an external carrier or 3PL, one of your own internal fleets, or a delivery service Nash runs for you. Every job you send out goes to a provider: something else, someone else, has to actually pick it up and carry it. Providers are the "who" behind that half of the equation.

You see all of them in one place, on the Providers page: your external carriers and 3PL vendors alongside your own fleets, each with the vehicles it runs, a support contact, recent latency, and uptime. Own-fleet providers sit on the same list and open the same read-only drawer as external ones — you still manage the drivers and vehicles themselves over in Fleet, but the provider record itself lives here.

Important

Providers are set up on your account by Nash. There's no self-serve "add" or "connect" button — the list is configured for your organization behind the scenes. If you want to bring on a new delivery provider, reach out to Nash.

How a provider gets your work

A provider doesn't just show up and take orders — it carries your work under a contract: the pricing and eligibility terms behind that provider, set up by Nash. A contract says what a provider charges and which orders it's even allowed to see, based on things like location, vehicle type, and package requirements.

At dispatch, every contract that's eligible for a given order returns a quote — an offer to carry it, at a price, in a window. That's the whole chain in one breath: a provider carries your work under a contract, and at dispatch each eligible contract produces a quote. Contracts themselves are priced and configured by Nash, the same way providers are. The one thing you can adjust yourself is a per-location eligibility override: restricting where one of a provider's contracts applies for your organization, without touching the pricing behind it.

One thing worth carrying into all of this: Nash dispatches the work and hands it to a provider or your own fleet — Nash itself doesn't carry the delivery. The providers on this page, and the contracts behind them, are who actually does.
