Create a Delivery Window Template

This guide walks you through creating delivery window templates to automate the generation of delivery windows across your zones.

A delivery window template allows for rolling creation of delivery windows, saving you from configuring individual instances of each delivery window by zone and by day.

Navigate to Templates

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select Delivery Windows

  3. Click on Templates from the list above

Start Template Creation

  1. Click the New button to open the creation model

  2. Enter the essential details for your template:

  • Template Name (e.g., "Morning 10 to 11")

  • External ID (if required)

Set Schedule Parameters

Configure when this template should apply:

  • Select the days of the week for this template

  • Set the time you wish this delivery window template to apply

    • Start Time - When this delivery window template should begin to apply

    • End Time (optional) - When this delivery window template should stop applying

Define Creation Cadence

The delivery window creation cadence determines how often delivery windows get generated on your schedule.

  • Configure the cadence to run by day, hour, or week

  • For example: "Each day apply this template"

Set Forward-Looking Period

Decide how far into the future to apply the delivery window template:

  • Select to apply multiple days, hours, or weeks into the future

  • For example: "Generate this template every day for a rolling 2 weeks of delivery windows"

Configure Conflict Handling

Define how conflicts should be handled when the template runs:

  • Overwrite - Allow this template to replace any manually configured windows on that day

  • Skip - Do not generate windows on days that already have manually configured windows

Set Delivery Window Details

Apply the specific details for the delivery windows this template will create:

  • Start time

  • End time

  • Price

  • Maximum capacity

  • Minimum order value

  • Any metadata associated with the delivery window

Select Zones for Application

Choose which zones this template should apply. For Example:

  • A specific list of stores

  • A geographic coverage area

Save the Template

Once you are satisfied with all settings:

  • Click Save to finalize the template

Note: Templates are perfect for seasonal delivery patterns or creating consistent delivery windows across multiple locations.
