Set driver availability and enable or disable a driver

Last updated: August 16, 2026

A driver has two separate states on the Drivers page: availability (whether they're on right now) and enabled (whether they're an active part of your roster at all). Both are roster settings — neither one puts a driver on a specific delivery. For that, see manually assign a delivery.

Note

Fleet and this page are gated. Availability varies by organization — if you don't see it, reach out to Nash. When your access is scoped, the Drivers page is read-only, so these controls are unavailable.

Set availability

The Availability column shows each driver as Available or Unavailable. Select the badge to open the Select Availability menu and switch between the two. You can also change availability from the top of a driver's detail drawer.

Availability reflects whether the driver is currently on and able to take work. It's a quick toggle you'll change day to day, independent of whether the driver is enabled.

Enable or disable a driver

Whether a driver is Enabled or Disabled shows in the Enabled column. To change it, open a driver's actions menu from their row and choose Disable (for an enabled driver) or Enable (for a disabled one). You can also enable a disabled driver from their detail drawer, where the primary button reads Enable.

Disabling a driver takes them out of the active roster: the driver is no longer assigned work and is removed from their driver groups. Disabling is reversible — enable the driver again to bring them back. Use the All and Enabled tabs at the top of the list to view every driver or only the enabled ones.
