Manage shifts
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Shifts are the planned working windows for your fleet — when a driver or vehicle is scheduled to be on. You build and manage them on the Shifts page under Fleet. This is roster scheduling: a shift says who is expected to work, where, and for how long. Putting a driver on a live delivery or a route is a separate job, covered in Operate — see Assign a driver to a live delivery and edit a route.
Note
Fleet and the Shifts page are gated. Availability varies by organization — if you don't see it, reach out to Nash.
The four tabs
The Shifts page is organized into tabs across the top:
- Shifts — the calendar. Create, edit, and reschedule individual shifts, and export shift data. See schedule and edit shifts.
- Templates — recurring schedules that generate shifts on a cadence. See create and use shift templates.
- Reports — an in-app view of planned versus actual shift times. This tab is available to Nash superusers only.
- Audit Log — a record of who created, changed, or deleted shifts. See shift reports and the activity log for both Reports and the Audit Log.
Filtering what you see
On the Shifts calendar you can narrow the view with the search box and these filters:
- Type — switch between a Vehicle view and a Driver view. This filter appears only when your organization has both drivers and vehicles.
- Store Location — limit the calendar to one or more store locations.
- Zone — limit the calendar to one or more zones.
You also move through time a week at a time and pick a day from the week selector at the top.
Getting new shifts in
There are three ways to create shifts:
- One at a time, on the calendar — see schedule and edit shifts.
- In bulk, from a spreadsheet — see import shifts by CSV.
- On a recurring schedule, from a template — see create and use shift templates.
Note
If your access is scoped to specific locations, you can create, edit, and export shifts within your scope, but the Templates and Audit Log tabs, the Zone filter, and CSV upload are hidden, and each shift must be tied to a store location in your scope.
