Rename or cancel a live route

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Two of the actions in a route's More menu in Execute change the route as a whole: Rename route gives it a name people recognize, and Cancel route stops its deliveries. Open the route in Execute and select More in the bar under the route's header to find both. For what Execute is, see the Execute overview.

Rename a route

A route name is a label for the people working the route — "North run", "Store 12 late wave" — shown in the Execute table and at the top of the route panel in place of the route's ID.

  1. Open the route and select More > Rename route.
  2. Type the name under Route name.
  3. Select Save name.

Nash confirms with "Route renamed". To remove a name, clear the box and save; Nash confirms with "Route name cleared" and the route goes back to showing its ID.

Renaming only changes the label. It doesn't touch the stops, the driver or the deliveries, so you can rename a route at any point, including after it's finished.

Cancel a route

Cancel route cancels the route's deliveries. You choose whether that's every remaining delivery or only some of them.

Cancel route is in the More menu once a route has been dispatched, including routes that don't have a provider yet. It's not offered on a route that's already completed or canceled.

  1. Open the route and select More > Cancel route.
  2. Review the deliveries. The dialog lists every delivery on the route. Deliveries that can still be canceled have a checkbox and are all selected to start with; stops that are already finished are listed without one, with their status, so you see the whole route.
  3. To cancel only some deliveries, untick the ones to keep, or use Select all to clear or restore the selection. The count beside it shows how many of the route's deliveries are selected.
  4. Select Cancel. To back out, select Keep route.

The dialog's title tells you what you're about to cancel: "Cancel" and the route's name (or "Cancel this route?") when every remaining delivery is selected, and "Cancel selected deliveries?" when it's only some of them. Under the title, the dialog names the route's provider and reminds you that this can't be undone.

Before you confirm

  • Cancellation can't be undone. A canceled delivery stays canceled; to deliver the order later, it has to be dispatched again.
  • Some providers only cancel whole routes. When the route's provider can't cancel individual deliveries, the dialog says "This provider only supports cancelling the entire route." and keeps every delivery selected.
  • Fees. A provider may charge to cancel. Where Nash has a fee estimate for the delivery, the dialog shows it, and you can confirm only once it has loaded. The dialog doesn't show a fee for routes with several deliveries.
  • Partly done routes. Completed stops stay completed; cancellation only applies to deliveries still open.

Nash sends the cancellation to the provider for each selected delivery and closes the dialog when they're all canceled.

If some deliveries don't cancel

If only part of a cancellation goes through, the dialog stays open with "Some deliveries were cancelled. Retry the remaining selection." The deliveries that were canceled drop off the list and only the ones that failed stay selected, so selecting Cancel again retries just those. If nothing could be canceled, the dialog says so and you can try again. When a route has nothing left to cancel, the dialog says "There are no eligible deliveries to cancel."

Other ways to deal with a route that can't go ahead

Cancelling ends the deliveries. If the orders still need to reach their customers, these usually fit better:
